More than 10,000 participants from around the nation will gather in Adelaide for the 2015 Australian Masters Games, giving a multi-million dollar boost to the local economy.

This will be the sixth time the biennial event has been held in South Australia. It is the largest multi-sport event in Australia,  featuring eight days of competition across 50 sports, and promoting friendship and goodwill among participants and the community as a whole.

The 2015 Games are expected to inject more than $12 million into South Australia’s economy. The last time Adelaide held the Games - in 2011 - they attracted almost 8000 visitors and had an economic impact of $8.9 million.

Confederation of Australian Sport president and chief executive Rob Bradley said he was delighted Adelaide would host the event.

"Adelaide is arguably the 'spiritual home' of the Australian Masters Games, having hosted on five previous occasions over the past three decades, more than any other location," Mr Bradley said.

The Australian Masters Games are open to participants over the age of 30. For more information visit www.australianmastersgames.com.
