SASI Individual Athlete Program and Country Athlete Awards 2021

SASI Individual Athlete Program and Country Athlete Awards 2021

Applications for the 2021 Round of SASI Individual Athlete Program (IAP) scholarships are now open for elite athletes.

Individual Athlete Program 2021

The IAP provides a 12 month athlete scholarship including financial support and targeted performance support services to individuals competing in an Olympic, Paralympic or Commonwealth Games sport.

Through this support, the IAP has made a positive and lasting difference for many South Australian athletes. 20 Individual Athlete scholars were selected to represent Australia at the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games with five athletes claiming medals on a highly competitive world stage.

Scholarships are typically awarded to South Australian elite senior athletes and targeted junior high performance athletes.

Country Athlete awards are also being offered to South Australian junior athletes (aged 13 – 18 on or before 31 December 2020) who have been identified as having the potential to progress into the senior ranks and have a permanent residence more than 130km from the Adelaide GPO.

To align with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) sport categorisation strategy, athletes who have a current categorisation with their National Sporting Organisation (NSO) will be prioritised in the review process.

Applications for the IAP close midday, 7 October.
