DAY 1 - Highlights of all the SA Paralympians in Rio

Day 1 of the Rio Paralympics saw 3 of South Australia’s 9 Paralympians compete across 3 sports and events.

Kieran Modra also missed the finals in the Men's 4km Pursuit B finishing in 6th place with a time of 4:14.339. This time was only 0.321 outside of what he would have needed to qualify for the bronze medal race off.

Libby Kosmala was first to compete in her 12th Paralympic Games but she was unable to progress to final finishing 18th in the qualification round of the Women's 10m Air Rifle Standing.

Jesse Aungles finished 5th in his heat of the Men’s 400m Freestyle S8 to qualify 8th fastest for the final that night. He was unable to improve on the heat swim finishing 8th in the final with a time of 4:48.23.
