SASI Talent Search 2032 for country-based athletes

The South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) has enlisted the support of two Olympic gold medallists in a bid to identify emerging South Australian athletes.

Kyle Chalmers and Madi Wilson

SASI swimmers Kyle Chalmers and Madi Wilson will be attending a dedicated Talent Search testing session for country-based athletes in the October school holidays.

The world champions are looking forward to meeting all those who attend on the day and encouraging them to pursue their sporting dreams.

“Many South Australians started their Olympic journey through SASI Talent Search and we hope to see as many young country-based athletes as possible at this session,” Chalmers said.

“Sport was ingrained in me as a youngster growing up in Port Lincoln and it will be really exciting to see the next generation of talent that’s coming through.”

To take part in this special testing session, athletes must reside 75km or more from Adelaide and be a high school aged student (years 7 to 12).

Testing for country-based athletes will take place on Tuesday 4 October from 12pm - 2pm at St Peter’s College.

Testing sessions involve a range of generic physical tests (endurance, speed, power and anthropometry) which provide every participant with a personalised report of their top five sports based on their testing results.

In addition to this, participants will have the opportunity to take part in sport-specific testing under the eye of SASI sport coaches.

Registrations are essential and more testing days are available for all South Australian high school students during the October school holidays.
