Following standout performances at the Australian Swimming Trials, four South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) athletes have been selected as part of the 60-strong Australian Dolphins team for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

SASI swimmers Matt Temple, Brittany Castelluzzo, Molly Walker and Jasmin Fullgrabe have all earned selection for Glasgow, with Temple returning for his second Commonwealth Games campaign and Castelluzzo, Walker and Fullgrabe set to make their Games debut.

Temple arrives in strong form after delivering another dominant performance in the men’s 100m butterfly at the Australian Swimming Trials. The experienced campaigner powered to gold in a blistering swim that comfortably met the qualifying standard, securing his place on the Australian team and claiming an extraordinary sixth national title in the event.

Temple returns to the Commonwealth Games after a successful campaign in Birmingham, where he collected both gold and silver medals, and will now look to build on that success in Glasgow.

Walker produced one of the performances of the meet in the women’s 800m freestyle, swimming a personal best of 8:26.01 to finish second and dip under the demanding qualifying time. Her performance secured not only Commonwealth Games selection, but also her Australian Dolphins debut.

Castelluzzo also booked her place in Glasgow with an impressive swim in the women’s 200m butterfly. Going out aggressively, she held on strongly to finish second in 2:06.95, also under the qualifying standard to earn her maiden Commonwealth Games selection.

Fullgrabe rounds out a strong SASI contingent heading to Glasgow (previously announced with the Para Swimming selections) and will join her teammates in making the most of the opportunity to represent Australia on the international stage.

SASI also acknowledges the contribution of Craig Stewart and Kate Irvine, whose expertise and commitment continue to help South Australian swimmers perform at the highest level nationally and internationally.

Australian Team Chef de Mission Petria Thomas OAM OLY said the selected swimmers had earned their place on the team and would embrace the opportunity ahead.

“I would like to congratulate every swimmer selected today, along with their coaches, families and friends, and the clubs and communities that have supported them on their journey to this moment,” Thomas said.

“The Australian Dolphins at Glasgow 2026 will feature a powerful mix of established performers and emerging talent, all eager to leave their mark.

“I know Australia is eagerly looking forward to cheering on the Dolphins once they take to the pool.”

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will run from 23 July to 2 August, with swimming competition taking place at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre from 24 to 29 July.
