TOUGH conditions didn't stop some excellent results at the recent Tour of South West in Victoria with SASI athlete Nicola McDonald excelling.
McDonald, 21, won both Stage One of the road race and Stage 3 of the criterium and was fourth in the Individual Time Trial.
Now living in SA and a former member of the New South Wales Institute of Sport program McDonald of Magill said she was settling in well to the new program and was pleased with ther Tour results.
"I put a lot of pressure on myself to do well do I was happy with that,'' McDonald said.
"The weather made it a bit tougher but the racing was really hard but good. I am now focusing on the Oceania track championships in New Zealand in October which should be good.''
SASI coach Brett Aitken said he was pleased with McDonald's effort and her work overall.
"She's always been a strong rider having represented Australia the junior world track titles (in 2016),'' Aitken said.
"She's had a couple of injuries recently but is getting some momentum as we head into Oceania's. She's really good to work with and we are fortunate to have her training full time in the SASI daily training environment.''
