Mick Nelson

Michael 'Mick' Nelson is the current SASI Volleyball Head Coach. Mick has coached Beach Volleyball at the Beijing 2008 and the London 2012 Olympic Games. Mick's educational qualifications are through University of South Australia – Bachelor of Applied Science, Recreation Planning and Management, as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Coaching through the University of Queensland. He was a Volleyball Australia National Team coach for 7 years, through the AIS National Beach Volleyball Program. He coached on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour from 2007-2013 and U19, U21 & U23 Junior World Championships campaigns. Mick has also lead the South Australian State Beach Volleyball Team to become National Junior Champions in 2014 as Head of Delegation and Coaching Director.

  • 2011-2013 Women's National Beach Volleyball Champions – Coach
  • 2010-2011 Volleyball Australia – Coach of the Year
